Historically the trench coat was introduced during the First World War, in which British and French soldiers were allowed to replace their heavy greatcoats for trench coats. Over time the trench coat parlayed itself into the world of fashion and has become the quintessential "classic" wardrobe piece. There is nothing like a trench coat to add a bit of class to any ensemble. I have owned this lovely trench coat for over 5 years and it is safe to say I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon. Remember to invest in quality pieces as they will undoubtedly take you from season to season.
